Instructions for Collection and Transport
A quantitative urine protein is automatically ordered with this test. This test is available on 24 hour urine specimens and other timed urine specimens.
For Timed or 24 hour urine specimens:
Internal samples: Indicate exact collection time on label. Submit entire urine collection and refrigerate.
Remote Locations: Measure timed urine and record volume and collection time on label. Minimum volume is 10 mL. Aliquot urine into brown plastic aliquot bottle and false bottom aliquot tube for total protein analysis. Transport refrigerated on freeze packs. Refrigerate if holding overnight.
