Instructions for Collection and Transport
Specimen is stable for 8 hours at room temperature.
For specimens referred to a central lab from outpatient clinics only, transport centrifuged sample on freeze packs. If holding overnight, aliquot plasma into plastic vial. Transport refrigerated sample on ice packs. Centrifuge specimen is stable for 24 hours at 2-8°.
Home Health Agencies: Transport to laboratory within 2 hours of collection keeping specimen cool.
