Collection Limitations
Prenatal Screening information required at Order Entry. Please send completed Prenatal Screen Information sheet with each specimen if unable to transmit required responses. This information can be entered via EPIC or a completed history form must accompany specimen to the laboratory.
The following information must be submitted: ultrasound date with CRL and NT measurement, ultrasonographer certification number from NTQR ir FMF, maternal weight, maternal date of birth, insulin-dependent diabetes status prior to pregnancy, multiple gestation (single, twin, triplets), race, and previous history of Down Syndrome or neural tube defect (NTD) pregnancy of the patient. Sample should be collected between 15 weeks 0 days and 22 weeks 6 days gestation.
Collect specimen between CRL 36 mm and CRL 79.9 mm.

Instructions for Collection and Transport
Centrifuge specimen and separate from cells within 2 hours of collection. Aliquot serum into plastic vial.
Freeze specimen. Transport frozen on dry ice. Also stable refrigerated 7 days.
