Instructions for Collection and Transport
Crush ampule of culturette to moisten swab.
Internal specimens should be transported to laboratory immediately.
Remote Locations: Transport refrigerated on freeze packs the same day of collection. Do not hold overnight.
Test not applicable for patients 5 years of age or older. The alternative test for NP sources is viral respiratory infection panel RIPNL (LAB8075); for all other respiratory sources alternative is RVPCR LAB6276, however E-swab is unacceptable for RVPCR testing.
