ONLY Collect Monday – Friday,  Must arrive at OMC Jeff Hwy by 9 p.m. for processing.  DO NOT collect Saturday or Sunday. No Collections the day before or the day of a holiday.

Instructions for Collection and Transport

Collect in special Quantiferon tubes 1 gray, 1 green, 1 yellow, 1 purple . Tubes can be obtained from Client Services AT EXT. 62146. Order of draw: Gray, Green, Yellow, Purple. Tubes only draw 1 mL each. Fill to black mark. Tubes fill slowly, leave on needle for 2-3 seconds. If a butterfly needle is used, a waste tube (plain red) must be collected first. Other blood work must be collected AFTER the TB tubes. After collection, immediately mix tubes vigorously for 5 seconds. Make sure blood contacts all sides of the tubes. Store and transport at room temperature. Tubes must be labelled with the EXACT time/date of collection or specimens will be rejected. Specimens must arrive at Main Campus within 10 hours of collection.

CSR Storage Requirements

Tubes must go in incubator within 16 hours of collection, deliver to Immunology on day shift and Hematology on evening shift. No overnight storage.
