Instructions for Collection and Transport

If special ARUP Clot Activator tube is not available, colllect in a plain red top tube. Serum gel tubes are not acceptable as they are know to cause analytical interference.

Allow serum to clot at room temperature for about 30 minutes before centrifugation. Centrifuge specimen.  Separate from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Refrigerate specimen. Transport refrigerated on freeze packs.
