Instructions for Collection and Transport
Centrifuge and remove cellular material. Transfer 1 ml of body fluid to a plastic transport tube. Indicate type of body fluid on tube. Transport refrigerated on ice packs. Store refrigerated if holding overnight. Specimens collected in sodium citrate or sodium fluoride tubes are not acceptable. Hemolyzed specimens are not acceptable. Breast milk and salivary, or vitreous fluids are not acceptable.
