Instructions for Collection and Transport
Collect using E-swab collection system.
If E-swab is not used, 1-3 mL of sterile saline can be used to keep specimen moist.
Microbiology Lab prefers to make their own slides. If the slide is prepared at collection site, place in a sterile petri dish without a coverslip.
Remote Locations: Transport specimen refrigerated on freeze packs or at room temperature. Refrigerate if holding overnight.
