Instructions for Collection and Transport
Tubes must be labeled with the following information: 1.Patient’s complete name, 2.Clinic number, 3.Location, 4.Date of collection, and 5.Collector’s I.D. Tubes may be labeled with stamped or computer-generated labels, or info may be handwritten. Specimen must be received in Blood Bank within 48 hours of collection. This procedure is considered a STAT procedure. Samples are to be sent directly to the Blood Bank. Do not centrifuge. Transport at room temperature.
