Instructions for Collection and Transport

Collect stool specimen in clean, dry container with a tight lid. Specimen should not be contaminated with barium, urine, or toilet paper.

Internal specimens should be transported to Laboratory within one hour of collection. Labs should transfer fresh sample to Cary-Blair transport and refrigerate.

Remote Locations: Transfer specimen to Cary-Blair transport container and send refrigerated on freeze packs.
