Instructions for Collection and Transport
South Louisiana Instructions:
Must use clean, leak-proof container. Test performed on fresh unpreserved stools only.
Internal specimens should be transported to laboratory immediately.
Remote Locations: Refrigerate specimen. Refrigerate if holding overnight.
North Louisiana Instructions:
Test is NOT performed on fresh unpreserved stools. Fresh stools will be rejected. Preserved specimens will be acceptable for use until the expiration date printed on the label of the fixative vial, when stored at room temperature (20-30ºC).
