Instructions for Collection and Transport

E-swab-after swab sample is taken, the swab applicator shaft is broken off at the colored breakpoint indication line by bending the shaft on the side of  the tube allowing the swab to fall into the E-swab transport tube. Discard the handle of the tswab. Replace tube's screw cap into a funnel-shaped molded docking receptacle in cap. DO NOT REFRIGERATE.

Internal samples should be transported to laboratory within one hour of collection. Crush ampule to moisten swab. Physician may choose to send inoculated plate to lab. DO NOT REFRIGERATE CULTURETTE OR INOCULATED PLATE.

Remote Locations: Inoculate specimen onto Thayer Martin plate. Place plate in CO2 bag and transport at room temperature. Incubate at 35 degrees if holding overnight. DO NOT REFRIGERATE SPECIMEN.
