Instructions for Collection and Transport
Obtain SPS tube from Microbiology lab. This tube will accommodate 3.2 mLs of bone marrow.
Internal samples should be sent to laboratory within 1 hour of collection.
Remote locations: Collect in Bactec blood culture bottles. Transport to Laboratory within 16 hours of collection at room temperature. Do not incubate or refrigerate.
