Instructions for Collection and Transport
Two bottles (aerobic and anaerobic) should be collected. If only enough fluid for 1 bottle, collect gray labeled bottle (aerobic).
Transport to Laboratory within 20 hours of collection at room temperature. Do not refrigerate. If specimen cannot be transported within 20 hours, incubate bottles at 35-37° C and transport the following day at room temperature. Please send Microbiology Lab information on the length of incubation.
