Patient Instructions/Preparation

In house Hepatitis C antibody assay is not intended for use in patients less than 18 years of age. Samples for patients in this age group will be sent to a reference lab for analysis with an expected TAT of 2-5 days.

For LSU Shreveport and Monroe labs ONLY: Transport at room temperature or refrigerate if holding overnight. DO NOT ALIQUOT.


For Ochsner JH, Baptist, Baton Rouge, and OLGH: Centrifuge and aliquot plamsa/serum into labeled aliquot tubes. Transport at room temperature or refrigerate if holding overnight.
