Instructions for Collection and Transport

Centrifuge specimen. Gold gel or Lithium Heparin gel tubes can be transported on the gel.

Aliquot serum/plasma into plastic vial. Transport refrigerated on freeze packs. Refrigerate if holding overnight.

CSR Storage Requirements

Centrifuge specimen. Transport to laboratory. If not analyzed in 3 days, aliquot serum into plastic vial and refrigerate.

Specimens are stable at room temperature (tested 21-30˚C) for 3 days,

at 2-8˚C for 7 days.

2-8 °C -  8 days

≤ -20° C - 30 days with serum or plasma removed from the clot or red blood cells

Separated Serum/plasma may be stored frozen (-20˚C or colder).
