Patient Instructions/Preparation
In-house HIV-1/2 Ag/Ab testing is not intended for use in patients younger than 2 years of age. Please use HIV viral RNA testing for this patient population. At LSU Shreveport, Ochsner Monroe, and Ochsner LSU St. Mary’s, testing will reflex to a send out RNA testing for these patients.

For LSU Shreveport, LSU St Mary’s and Monroe labs ONLY: Transport at room temperature or refrigerate if holding overnight. DO NOT ALIQUOT.
For Ochsner JH, Baptist, Baton Rouge, and OLGH: Centrifuge and aliquot plamsa/serum into labeled aliquot tubes. Transport at room temperature or refrigerate if holding overnight.
