Collection Limitations
Jeff Hwy Campus Monday- Saturday 8am-4:00 pm- Call Laboratory Client Services at 504-842-4623.
Sundays and holidays, Call Laboratory Client Services at 504-842-4623; 8am-4:00pm.
For technologist assistance outside of these hours obtain approval from pathologist on call.
Remote locations can send samples Sunday – Thursday anytime. Friday-samples must be sent to Main Campus Lab the same day collected. Send by STAT courier or cab if necessary. Saturday- specimens need to arrive at Main Campus Lab by 12:00pm. Send by STAT courier or cab if necessary. Holidays-No collections on Saturday prior to a Monday holiday or Friday prior to a Saturday holiday. Specimens must be analyzed within 24 hours of collection. Collections outside of these times need approval by the pathologist on call.

Instructions for Collection and Transport
Send samples in clinical specimen transport container at room temperature. Specimens collected on Friday must be sent on Friday by regular courier or STAT courier and will be processed on Saturday. Specimens must be analyzed within 48 hours of collection.

CSR Storage Requirements
Transport specimen to Flow Cytometry Laboratory ASAP. If holding overnight, store bone marrow specimen at room temperature.
